Anyone fortunate enough to reside in balmy Brighton, England, might fancy checking out the Tiger Festival, ongoing at the Duke of York Picturehouse, sponsored by long-time Firecracker supporters Tiger Beer.
After kicking off last night with a opening party, the films start tonight with Satoshi Kon's PAPRIKA.
Other classy movies showing over the next few days include:
Zhang Yimou's RIDING ALONE FOR THOUSANDS OF MILES
Wilson Yip's DRAGON TIGER GATE
A chance to finally see effective Thai horror THE SHUTTER in the UK
Johnnie To's night-movie PTU, also soon to see a welcome though belated UK theatrical release...
and Feng Xiaogang's costume bonanza THE BANQUET

I can't believe it has taken over two years for Shutter to get a UK release! Still, it was good to see it on the big screen having only seen the DVD up until now. Paprika was also well worth a look.
